Madewell Has Plus?!
One of the worst parts of plus size shopping is seeing so many beautiful brands that are creating the pieces you want, but they literally never come in your size. It breaks my heart every damn time. My first reaction is to figure out how to sew for myself, but WOW okay that’s a lot more time consuming and expensive than the internet makes it seem. Plus that also takes a level of skill and patience that quite frankly, just isn’t as satisfying as putting it in my online cart while I’m eating ice cream and binge watching The Good Place.
Madewell is one of those companies that has a beautiful, timeless yet quirky style. I kept getting ads for their newest fall velvet drops, and I was shedding a tear for the beautiful pieces I couldn’t call my own. I clicked on one of the links, willing it to be in my size when…
MADEWELL MAKES SOME THINGS UP TO A SIZE 24?!
Hi, how have I missed this? I had seen the wonderful Rosey Beeme talking about Madewell, but somehow that only registered in my head as “Oh, cute clothes.” While their plus size range definitely doesn’t include all of their pieces and they definitely have a lot of work to do in promoting their extended sizes (Madewell, I’m here to model when you need me, loves), I’m still excited I can own some of that velvet.
Full disclosure, I have NOT tried Madewell on in person yet, so I can’t speak to sizing. But when I do finally snag some pieces, I’ll definitely keep you guys posted!
I am OBSESSED with these little ruffles. They’re so dramatic, almost like some sort of Elizabethan collar. I want to tuck this into a maxi skirt and throw on some pearl earrings for a romantic and dramatic modern look.
Okay, this top is what led me to stalking Madewell in the first place. There is also a matching skirt that is just FIRE. I love this tucked into high waisted jeans or shorts, but this would also look amazing over a pencil skirt with a pair of heels for work.
This is the perfect casual denim dress! I want to wear this with a pair of sneakers for some day drinking in the summer, or throw on bright tights, booties, and a heavy cardigan for the fall in Houston.
I have really strong feelings about overalls. They are literal perfection. So many pockets, make your butt look cute when they fit right, AND always get compliments. I love to pop a crop top underneath mine for a casual bar night or a button down and some pointy toed flats for casual work attire.
A cozy sweater is my heart’s weakness. I love the long sleeves too cause ya girl has crazy long arms. These retro colors work perfectly for fall, but I would totally rock this through spring with some cut offs and cute flats.
What are your thoughts on Madewell? Yay or nay? Do you have any insight on how Madewell plus sizes fit? Let me know!
